Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Growing up and being raised in California, USA, she first began modeling in Italy. She began her acting career at the age of 16 in the TV film "Her Costly Love". She struggled to get an acting role in Starship Troopers, despite having appeared in numerous films. Amy struggled with the transition from modeling to acting because models are not usually considered good actors. They often were granted small, non-important roles. Amy didn't give up, eventually landing bigger roles. It started by appearing in the TV show "The 70's" and the feature film "Varsity Blues". Her next move was to play lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy film 'Just Friends in which she was also joined by Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for her efforts during the past decade. She continued to do significant films, like the series 'Crank' starring Jason Statham and the series 'Shameless', where she played a adored recurring character.
